Rep. Barletta Questions ICE on the House Floor
Rep. Barletta Questions ICE on the House Floor
Thursday, May 26, 2011, 6:34 PM EDT - posted on NumbersUSA
Rep. Lou Barletta
Freshman Rep. Lou Barletta (R-Pa.), who recently
created the Freshman Immigration Caucus, took to the House floor this week to question the policies of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Rep. Barletta is the former mayor of Hazleton, Pa. where he passed the first local ordinance to combat illegal immigration. During his floor speech, Rep. Barletta demanded a reason why an illegal alien stopped in his district was not detained by ICE.
A few weeks ago, police in Pennsylvania stopped an
illegal alien for a traffic violation. The illegal alien did not know
where he lived and had no job, but he had two public benefits cards and cash in his possession. After confessing to be in the country illegally, police contacted ICE officials who instructed the police to let the illegal alien go free.

Yes That happened in my town too. I asked the court clerk why they dont call ICE, she said they used to but stopped because they wont come and get them. These ICE people are either under-staffed or they are just lazy.
