If it's random, how do they know it's an oversampling of African Americans?

After reading the poll this really doesn't look as good as the article states.
There were several questions held for future release.
19. On another subject: Would you support or oppose a program giving ILLEGAL immigrants now living in the United States the right to live here LEGALLY if they pay a fine and meet other requirements?
Support Oppose No opinion
6/1/07 52 44 4
There are no other options and the meet other requirements is ambiguous. I am not so much against giving illegal aliens now living in the U.S. a right to live here legally that I cannot conceive of "other requirements" that would allow them too.
Those "other requirements" would include
being barred for using fake ID or a Social Security number
being barred from collecting Social Security benefits for the time they were here
being barred for driving without a license, driving without insurance, dui, and various other crimes
Youth involved in problem situations face deportation and expulsion from public schools (gangs, drugs, etc) along with family if they are minors
being barred from Social programs
Entities of States and Local governments where they live meeting requirements for reporting illegal aliens to ICE and actively working against breaking the law
Any entity that receives funding from State or local government required reporting illegal aliens
Speaking English
Not allowed to bring family members in based upon family relationship
Children born here would not be automatic citizens unless at least one of the child's parents that the child was living with for at least a year was also a citizen
Businesses that hire illegal aliens fined and agree to government oversight of their activities
Unions required to check immigration status, report illegal aliens, fined and agree to government oversight of activities if they fail to meet this requirement
Cannot have a drivers license of any type unless they pass test, pay for a special license that says "for driving purposes only" not id. Driver's license is specific to one state only and must use a proven valid id to obtain it.
Driver insurance required - checked monthly
Health insurance required - by employer no Federal, state benefits
The bar would be high, but I could allow it.

I'll tell you right now, they didn't call 1,205 people in Texas or Arizona. They must have been calling people in DC.

Today's Hot Topic: The Immigration Debate
Immigration: The NYT urges the Senate to kill an amendment to the immigration reform bill proposed by Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.) that would destroy the legislation's attempt to create a "path to legal status for an estimated 12 million immigrants" in the United States ... the WaPo urges Congress to remember immigrants' impact on the U.S. economy as it debates changes to the immigration reform bill: "The latest wave of immigrants -- legal and illegal, skilled and unskilled -- has stimulated enormous economic activity and wealth generation in this country, and it is implausible that the American economy would fare as well without them," the editors write ... the WaPo also notes that the fee for obtaining a green card is set to rise by an average of 66 percent next month, and encourages Congress to set aside funds for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services bureau so that it may lower the cost ... USA Today endorses a change included in the immigration bill that would offer more green cards to immigrants on the basis of their education, age, ability to speak English and work history, instead of family preference ... reacting to USA Today's editorial, Jeanne Butterfield argues that the green card system shouldn't be changed to favor "highly-educated, English-speaking elites": "As desirable as such people might be as potential immigrants, it is also clear that we need hard-working people who might not have degrees but who have a strong connection to the United States, the gumption to start businesses or a willingness to work in some of our most difficult jobs," she writes.

Rush Limbaugh (6/4) just blasted the WaPo poll & report and the belief that some of the pols think that the opposition to the amnesty is "turning around." Rush doesn't see this at all, thinks the opposite is occurring and mentioned the Washington Times report that said among conservatives, opposition to the amnesty bill is a fundraising WINNER. He believes this is just an attempt by the media, the Dems and the GOP, to marginalize conservatives as a bunch of "yahoos." He also mentioned that the internals of the poll don't look good for people proposing amnesty, noted the misleading questions (e.g, no fines would be collected).
Rush is still blasting the amnesty bill, SO KEEP UP YOUR CALLS, prove Kyl, Flake et al wrong!Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
