Immigration status on driver's license? POLL

Should There Be a Law Requiring Citizenship or Immigration Status on Your Driver’s License?

No -- It turns a license into a national ID card. It's too Big Brother and takes us down a slippery slope. 11.8% (4,188 votes)

Yes -- It's a simple way to let police know you're here legally, and if you are you have nothing to fear. 78.82% (27,980 votes)

    NO AMNESTY

Don't reward the criminal actions of millions of illegal aliens by giving them citizenship.

Illegal aliens shouldn't get licenses so why put your citizen or immigration status on the DL?

In Florida they already have something in place. You cannot get a driver's license if you do not produce documents showing you are here legally. If you are on a visa you renew your license every year until you get your greencard or your visa expires. Those with a visa have temporary in red on the driver's license and you last one has the date your visa expires. Also when that license expires there is suppose to be a message that says to notify ICE so if the person becomes illegal and are caught driving they will go to jail for driving without a license and then get deported.

My response is undocumented persons should never be given driver licences in the U.S. to have any type of I.D's displayed on licences. Only legal citizens should be operating automobiles on our State highways.

    national I.D.

We dont need a national ID for citizens of this country. We do need our screwed up elected members of congress to do their jobs. Each and every members who doesnot stand up for true americans should be kicked OUT OF COUNTRY and have their butts set on fire.

This is one of those trick polls to get you to say yes to something that will lead to illegals getting licenses.

Why a label on the license if you can only get a license if your legal. No license and your driving, go to jail until we can figure out who the hell you are.

Deport you if your illegal at that point, or your wife or mom brings your ID, or license.

More is done to you if you get caught hunting without a license, than if you get caught driving without a license.
