Was dispersant the right choice for the ocean water?
I am nobody...but I was thinking that the dispersant simply assures that the oil becomes a part of the ecosystem permanently or at least for many many years to come. It is now a part of the oceans of the world. It seems to me that it would have been better to leave it in a condition what it could have been dealt with and cleaned up.
With it being a part of the water in parts pr million it is for sure to make its way into all ocean life and the clueless that swim in it because it can no longer be seen.

BP used a very toxant dispersant even after they were asked to use another type that is not toxic.
Why did they refuse to change the type of dispersants used ? They own part of the company that makes the toxic dispersant they used."A Government big enough to give you everything you want,is strong enough to take everything you have"* Thomas Jefferson

I simply do not understand how making the oil part of the water helped anything. The crap they put in only made the water more toxic. And now all that stuff will be in all the life in the ocean including what we eat.
I understand the energy problems...but someday we are truly going to have to address world population. Even stupid lemmings know when to jump off a cliff when there are to may of them. And I am not sure about the animals that beach themselves but those suicides are probably for the good of the group. Rats clean up after themselves by eating the dead and sick as do cockroaches.
