Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley is a staunch supporter of country of origin labeling; but in a different conference call last week, he told reporters that after multiple WTO decisions against the labels, options are limited.
Grassley says, ”One of two things have to happen, either we find a WTO compliant way of keeping COOL, or else, and that’s what I’m going to do in the first step. If we don’t succeed there, then I’m going to have to vote for a repeal of COOL.”

GOING TO HAVE TO REPEAL Will Senator Grassley who is against illegal immigration say he will have to support AMNESTY because of investor dispute???

So that should say it all, now I am no big fan of the COOL Act. however I do not want international tribunals forcing my Senators to REPEAL LAWS that are made and are found to be within the law and Investor Dispute **AKA OBAMACOURTS** force are elected leaders to change laws that they voted on and even support. The next will be illegal immigration, Climate, Change, ETC and Obama is keeping this treaty secret which is TREASON.

Iowa Senators Talk Origin Labeling

Canada is seeking authorization from the World Trade Organization for three billion dollars in import taxes on U.S. products. That amount is retaliation for damages Canada says its livestock sector suffered as a result of USDA’s country of origin labeling rule for meat products.

That rule required meatpackers to track animals throughout the production chain, and made it more economical to use domestic animals instead of imported ones, but it also violated American obligations as a WTO member.

To fit it, the House Agriculture Committee has produced a bill repealing country of origin labeling for beef, pork and chicken, but not other commodities.

Iowa Senator Joni Ernst was asked about the timeline for a similar bill from the Senate Agriculture Committee in a conference call last week.

Ernst says, ”I have not heard a timeline coming from chairman Roberts. As a matter of fact, I was just joined by some young cattlemen this morning they visited with me about that very issue. So, there’s a number of proposals out there, I know we have discussed it just amonst our members here in the Senate. But as far as an actual timeline in the Senate agricultural committee haven’t heard that from Pat Roberts yet. We will continue to work on that issue.”
