A fight between neighbors led to the discovery of 10 grenades in the bedroom of a Miami home, where police arrested a man and woman Tuesday.

During the investigation, the neighborhood along Southwest 37th Avenue was evacuated and rush-hour traffic was rerouted while the Miami police bomb squad worked to determine if the grenades were live explosives or not.

To that end, the squad took the 10 grenades back to the lab for more testing, said Sgt. Freddie Cruz. Police also found a pig inside the home.

Police arrived at the neighborhood at about 5:30 p.m. to handle a fight between neighbors. They soon found drugs -- cocaine and marijuana -- and a weapon in a home in the 2100 block of Southwest 37th Avenue. Searching further, police found at least 10 grenades -- in an open drawer in the bedroom, Cruz said.

Cruz said the man and women were arrested on drug and weapon charges. Police did not release their names, because it is an ongoing investigation that could involve federal charges, if the grenades prove to be active explosives, Cruz said.
