DONA ANA COUNTY, N.M. -- The man accused of impersonating a Border Patrol agent in order to lure women is facing a federal court.

Dona Ana County Sheriff's Office investigators say the federal trial for David Ramos-Arenas began Monday. The case ended in mistrial in district court.

Ramos-Arenas has been charged with impersonation of a peace officer and false detainment.

He turned himself into police last March after a woman who recognized him from one of ABC-7's newcasts told authorities he stopped her in Mesquite, New Mexico and tried to convince her out of the car.
