Many Trades Destroyed By Wages Undercut By Illegals, Gov No Help

If you need any of the following work preformed, I can just about guarantee that the ones actually doing the work do not speak English or do not have a green card:

Pour concrete for a driveway or patio, brickwork, lay floor tile, install wall tile for a tub or shower surround, roof repair or replacement, install drywall / tape and bed, fencing, install lawn sprinkler systems, tree trimming, foundation work, etc, etc, etc.

You see, these are jobs that I'm proficient at and at one time or another worked to support my family. The wages paid were under cut by illegal alien workers to the point that I could no longer support my family.

The reason this is allowed to continue is simple, it is a boon to the construction industry. New home sales are used to gauge the health of the economy. If new homes cost less, more sell, the economy looks better. The economy all across the board would improve and more taxes would be collected if this was discontinued.

In 2000 I worked for USA Companies, on a very large remodel of a Government building at the VA Hospital Complex in Waco Texas. Practically all the General Labor workers spoke no engish and thier status was clear.

Apparently, to save money, the labor force was given two pay checks to avoid paying a large amount overtime at time and one half. Workers filed complants with the Labor Board.

A government worker came to the job and interviewed everyone (myself included) and asked if we had been payed with two checks for one pay period and if we had been fully payed for all time worked including overtime. Everyone that complained was paid in full and kept on the job.

The results should have been very different. These illegal aliens should have been paid in full for thier labor and then deported. All responsable for hiring the illegals, or had knowlege thereof, should have been prosecuted. This took place on federal property with a company under a Goverment contract.

True Illegal Alien reform didn't happen under Bush and it's not going to happen under Obama.

We keep hearing the term "Illegal Immigrant" and are mislead by it. Immigrants are persons LEGALY in this country. Very little is wrong with our immigrant program (over staying Visas etc.) Now, to get true ILLEGAL ALIEN reform, all we have to do is enforce laws that we already have. It is illegal to knowingly transport, aid and abed, provide employment to,or conspire to proform any of the above, or fail to report any of the above crimes.

Call your representatives in Washington and in your state and ask why these laws are not enforced.

We must elect leaders with very strong conservative views or these reforms will not happen.
