On the one hand I say BRAVO!!!! for them and perhaps this IS the answer to sending a message in all countries.

On the other, however, I wonder if this isn't just playing right into the hands of what these governments, corporations, etc. WANT.

After all, strikes and walk offs, were very effectively used in the past by workers in order to gain fair treatment by employers and the employers didn't have any choice.

These days, it's just no threat.

If the native population workers strike, walk off and do whatever else they certainly are more than entitled and have every right to do.....isn't that just opening the door for foreign replacements?

And if the objective IS to bring in foreign labor at the exclusion of domestic workers well....there ya go.

I'm just not sure WHAT the answer is anymore that will put these employers on their asses and restore employment opportunities to domestic workers.

True. I am angry and frustrated to see Foreigners getting the jobs that the legal citizens should be getting. Ok, so where can we American and British people go to start all over again? LOL At least we all speak the same language.

I've wondered what would happen if U.S. workers of all collar colors just said, "Enough!". How long would it take to replace us? Is our work so simple and low quality that any ol' body would do? Would enough of us have the courage and fortitude?
The news report about what is happening in the UK ran like a movie through my head and my heart swelled at their courage. I wish them the best.

I am sure more of this is going to happen as it has already in Great Britain and in France. Unrest over the simple fact people DO NOT WANT the NWO! They want their own jobs and their own governments. I think the American citizens should do the same thing and I WOULD BE THERE!

If more foreign replacements are brought in, I think the oppostion will increase and spread to broader sectors of industry, with potential increases in violence as well. I can see that happening here also, as unemployment continues to increase and resentment towards employment of illegal aliens escalates.
