Watch: Still No Word On When Obama Will Sign Up For Obamacare

December 2, 2013 by Personal Liberty News Desk

In March 2010, The White House said that said that President Barack Obama would sign up for Obamacare if he were re-elected for a second term in the Oval Office.
The announcement came after Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) proposed an amendment to the health care reconciliation bill that would have required the President to buy insurance through the exchanges.

“We think the amendment is unnecessary,” said White House spokesman Reid Cherlin at the time. “The President will participate in the exchange. But let’s be clear: The amendments being offered by Senate Republicans, including this one, are just a ploy to delay the bill.”

Current White House Press Secretary Jay Carney was asked Monday if the President had made an effort to sign up.

“I don’t have an update for you on that. I know that he will and has said that he will, the White House has said that he will, but I don’t have an update,” Carney said.
Carney was then asked if the press would be invited to watch the process.

“I’ll get back to you,” he said.
