Boy, 16, shot in doorway among slayings in Juárez

A 16-year-old boy died in the doorway of a home after being shot Tuesday in one of five more homicides recorded in Juárez.
The teen, Edgar Alejandro Castro Carrillo, was shot multiple times in the head and torso at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday in the doorway of a home in the 1700 block of Calle Manuel Acuña, Chihuahua state investigators said Wed nesday. Ten bullet casings and fragments were found at the scene.

An unidentified man about 17 to 18 years old was killed in a driveby shooting at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday outside a home in the 1900 block of Calle Guanajuato in the Felipe Angeles area, police said. The multiple shots were fired from a white mini-van.

At about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, an unidentified man in his 30s was found stabbed to death in the patio of an abandoned home in the 3700 block of Emiliano Zapata street in Colonia Nuevo Mexico.

The man, stabbed twice in the torso, had several tattoos, including a marijuana leaf with the statement "Yo siempre consumo" (I always consume).

About 15 minutes before midnight, a man, identified by police as Miguel Angel Fernandez Esparza, 47, was gunned down in a home in the 2500 block of Calle Año de Juárez. Investigators found 23 bullet casings at the scene.

Wednesday evening, there were news reports that a man was shot and killed while riding with his family in a gold-colored Dodge in the Cuahtemoc area. No further details were available.
