Our friends at Let Freedom Ring did the math

Our friends at Let Freedom Ring did the math. Speakers at the Democratic National Convention mentioned the government-led bankruptcies of GM and Chrysler (they called them, deceptively, "rescues") over 150 times! But NOT ONCE did they mention these victims of the auto bankruptcies: Delphi retirees.

Today Vice President Joe Biden is campaigning in Dayton, Ohio. It's the home of over 2,000 non-union retirees of General Motors parts supplier Delphi. These retirees had their pensions terminated by the Obama Administration at the very same time that Delphi’s union workers got their pensions "topped up" by GM -- with our taxpayer money! So much for that whole fairness thing that Obama’s always talking about.

When Biden visited Youngstown, Ohio in May he was asked about the Delphi retirees, and he actually said: "Some of them got hurt, but the vast majority... most did fine."

Let Freedom Ring’s videos prove Biden’s claim to be complete nonsense. Click here to watch Delphi non-union retirees on camera talking about how they’re struggling because of the Obama Administration’s decision to terminate their pensions while bailing out their union counterparts.

This should be a huge story, but it just isn't being told by the corrupt media. That's why I'm sharing this with you and asking for your help.

Please watch the videos from Let Freedom Ring and share them by forwarding this email to your friends. If you use Twitter and Facebook, please share the videos there, too.

    Yours truly,
    Phil Kerpen

P.S. The claim that Mitt Romney wanted GM to "go bankrupt" is being used as a political attack, but under Barack Obama GM actually DID go bankrupt on June 1, 2009. You can look it up. It was a corrupt government-run bankruptcy that played political favorites to reward unions and punish non-union workers. That's wrong. Please share the Let Freedom Ring videos to get the word out about Delphi.

Nor did they once mention the fate of the bond owners, who by law, should have been the first to collect. Instead they were defrauded. Moreover, by pandering to the UAW, Obama and company have placed GM on the brink of total bankruptcy. Had they followed standard Chapter 11 rules, the UAW contracts would have been renegotiated, and the bloated benefit and pay packages would have been reduced. Bond owners would have been paid off. Non-union workers at Delphi would have retained their retirement and benefits programs. GM would have reduced its overall cost of operation, would not have the US government as a partner, and could have steered a more productive and successful course out of bankruptcy back to profitability. As it is, GM is burdened with unsustainable union contracts, loss of market share, forced to produce losers like the Chevy Volt, and are the current recipients of one of the largest corporate welfare handouts in history. Around 25 billion I believe still outstanding, not to mention the 49K dollar subsidy from us taxpayers for every Chevy Volt sold.

Oh, also not mentioned are all of the dealerships that were shut down using political affiliation as a primary decision point vice sales numbers and profitability, and the thousands of jobs that were lost in the process.
