There is a very large segment of Huckabee’s supporters which can be won over by simply telling them the truth about Huckabee‘s adopted fair tax plan, and then, promising to actually work to accomplish what Huckabee has misled his supporters to believe is contained in his adopted fair tax plan. Why do I believe this to be true?

The real Mike Huckabee phenomenon begins several years back, perhaps in 2005 when H.R. 25, Fair Tax Act of 2005 was introduced in the House.

At this time Neal Boortz , a popular nationwide talk radio host was panhandling the fair tax as a 23 per cent tax on consumption and services, replacing existing taxes on incomes, but he wasn’t telling his listeners some very important things contained or omitted in the text of the proposed legislation. For example, he continually gave the impression that H.R. 25 would repeal all taxes calculated from profits, gains, salaries and other incomes and remove from Congress’s powers the power to lay and collect taxes calculated from such incomes which would in turn end the misery for Mary and Joe Sixpack keeping records and being subject to federal audits and such. And how did Mary and Joe Sixpack respond to Neal Boortz’s version of H.R. 25?

In one instance about 8,000 fair tax supporters filled the Carolina Coliseum on May 15th to help make the FairTax an issue at the South Carolina Republican presidential primary debate.

On May 24th 2006 about 4500 supporters showed up at another fair tax rally while hundreds more were turned away because of limited space.

And on July 24th 2006, the fair tax was on the Republican primary ballot in three metropolitan Atlanta counties, and was approved by over 85 percent of the voters.

And what is a recent headline concerning fair tax supporters?
