USDOT Gives $750K Grant to Arizona

PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Department of Transportation has been awarded a $750,000 federal grant while the New Mexico Department of Transportation getting $218,500.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood on Thursday announced $11.6 million in grants to help minority- and women-owned business enterprises compete for federal highway contracts in 30 states and Puerto Rico.

The grants from the Federal Highway Administration's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise/Supportive Services program provide federal aid to DBE firms to improve their ability to compete for and fulfill federal highway contracts.
