It's not clear whether Valery Podsobinski, a 45-year-old mom from Talent, Ore., allegedly fed her children pot-laced snacks then beat them with household objects, or the other way around. Actually, it doesn't really matter. If police are right and she did either of those things, then she's unlikely to be seeing her kids any time soon.

The Oregonian reports that Podsobinski was indicted last week on charges of applying a controlled substance to a minor; felony possession of marijuana; felony possession of psilocybin mushrooms; two counts of felony assault in the fourth degree; two counts of misdemeanor assault in the fourth degree; and two counts of recklessly endangering another person.

Psilocybin mushrooms, you say? Indeed, when she was arrested she apparently had a big bag of shrooms on her.

As for the child abuse, police say she had been abusing her kids for months before she was arrested, slipping pot-infused food into their meals and later abusing them.

Her weapons of choice for beating her kids supposedly included belts, wooden spoons, paddles, and spatulas.

We've definitely heard of parents being booked for hitting their kids with all kinds of objects (in fact, sometimes they have the kids so well trained that they hit themselves) but getting them high first is a new one.
