Street shootings, a buried body and a narco-message were parts of at least eight homicides Tuesday and Wednesday in Juárez, Chihuahua state police said.

The decomposing body of an unidentified man, whose hands were bound behind his back, was found Tuesday buried in the Senderos de San Isidro area, police said.

The body of another unidentified man, who had signs of violence, was found that same morning in a half-full irrigation ditch in Zara goza.

Juárez has recorded more than 500 slayings this year, most of them linked to warring drug cartels.

Soon before 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, Juan Luis Castro, 23, and Roberto Alejandro Calvillo Arreola, 28, were gunned down in a hail of 35 bullets on Pimas and Presa Necaxa streets, police said.

Less than 10 minutes later in the Waterfil area, Leobardo Daniel Chavez Bautista, 18, and Rodolfo Venegas Contreras, 29, who was in a Toyota Corolla, were shot and killed. Ivan Venegas Contreras was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday, an unidentified man who had been shot, bruised and cut was found slain with his hands bound near the Juárez-Porvenir road, police said.

A note stated, "Your boss is next. Sincerely, La Linea." La Linea is one of the warring drug cartels in Juárez.

At noon Wednesday, Guillermo Jesus Cordova, 41,

was found shot to death in the kitchen of his home in the Puerta del Sol area. Investigators found 14 bullet casings.
