Marijuana smuggler stopped at border

A 33-year old man has been arrested for trying to smuggle more than $300,000 worth of marijuana across the border into the United States.

The man, who is a permanent resident alien, attempted to enter the U.S. driving a Chevrolet pickup truck at the San Luis Port of Entry on Monday, June 23. A Customs and Border Protection officer became suspicious after noticing discrepancies with the vehicle. A narcotic detector dog alerted agents to narcotics odor, and an inspection revealed 168 packages of marijuana, weighing 189 pounds hidden within the truck bed.
