Corruption, greed, both in government and corporate America has basically destroyed the American dream. My spouse and I have nearly 85 years total work life never received any government hand outs in those working years, raised our children provided help for them through college and yet today we continue to pay high property/school tax on the home we worked for all those years, the taxes are now nearly what our monthly payments were when we first purchased the home.

Undoubtedly depending on the years remaining we will be required to sell our home basically unable to do all required maintenance due in large part to property tax,or the other options is simply give the state/county property upon our death. Do not fall for the assumption you own your home fact is the banks and or county/state is sole owner, many of the tax laws now make us tenants only.

This is not a woe is me tale but an example what many now paying for homes will face as they age. America has changed instead of protecting our own we have decided to allow others in the world to use us as consumers and there police force, far too many people view any profit as good profit no matter the results to the country.

Much of this could still be changed if our leaders simply decided America first, close the borders, place a moratorium on all immigration for 5 years, return to a manufacturing base rather then consumer based, you want to sell here make it here, certainly short term people would lose money but long term America would return to the power it once was.
I'm old with many opinions few solutions.
