REDLANDS, Calif. -- A man profiled on "America's Most Wanted" was arrested after he allegedly snatched a woman's purse and she chased him down, authorities said.

Redlands police on Monday arrested Jesse Anthony Carrion, 28, of Lewiston, Maine, for investigation of theft and discovered he has warrants in several eastern states for burglary, assault, auto theft and weapons charges, said Carl Baker, a police spokesman in Redlands, about 60 miles east of Los Angeles.

Caron had allegedly grabbed Katherine Bolter's purse outside an Office Depot store Monday morning. Bolter, 51, said she kicked off her shoes and chased after him. Two carpenters working nearby joined the pursuit and helped surround him, she said.

One of the carpenters tackled him, and Bolter held on to his belt until police arrived, she said.

"The officers were telling me, 'You can let go of him, ma'am. You can let go of him now,'" Bolter said.

It was unclear if Caron would first face charges locally or be extradited to face charges in Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut or Massachusetts, Baker said.

According to the "America's Most Wanted" Web site, Caron initially was arrested in February but posted bail and is accused of committing more crimes while free. The television show profiled his case on Feb. 4.

I love hearing stories where people refuse to be victims and where others jump in to help. Renews my faith. Now if the court system and such can hang on to him as well as she did!!
