JOE BIDEN'S CHOICE OF WORDS

I believe the word Joe Biden meant to use was “fresh” which meant “new” or “different.” “Spotless background” or not “contaminated politically.” I do not believe he meant “clean” as in not dirty referring to personal hygiene.
Two words you do not use in describing a Black man is “clean” and “smart” kind of like the Gieco commercial about the cave man as in not dirty and not stupid. He tried to cover up with the excuse about a phrase that his mother used; “clean as a whistle, sharp as a tack,” which still mean not dirty and smart.’ I believe this was insult upon insult and he should have stopped at clean. His choice of words could have been better, but I do not think any malice was intended. His choice or words was bad.

Re: JOE BIDEN'S CHOICE OF WORDS

I don't think Joe Biden meant anything by this either. "Fresh" to me, meant young, and "clean" meant polished. the media will take anything and run with it. It's the season...

I think the media just likes to stir things up and fabricate a controversy. I agree that Biden could have chosen his words better, but who hasn't said things they wish they'd have phrased a different way. The PC police are ever vigilant.

Count me among those who think that Biden's words meant what they sounded like. These guys get on a roll sometimes and let their true feelings slip out in front of a mic. You'd know what I was talking about if you had ever spent much time around celebrities and politicians in back rooms and off the record. The things that come out of their mouths are unbelievable.

I see where you are coming from, but I think a lot of these words are potentially regional. Some people say "guys" in the midwest when they are addressing a group, even if it is a group of girls, or in the south they use "boy" a lot, which I find offensive, but it is common for the region. I've heard you talk about your connection to celebrities several times.
How are you connected to the industry?

Which industry? I have been connected to several. I was on the production end of music/television/film off and on for most of my adult life, but I finally had the common sense and moral clarity to get out. I have also been part owner and operator of a chemical company and have worked in high tech. I hold several patents and am now involved primarily in engineering and design, both free lance and as a partner in a technology company. I have been politically active my whole life, but I stay out of direct involvement in the business because I have an aversion to invertebrates.

I was referred to as "gal" once by a man that was half my age and I was offended until I realized where he was coming from. To him all females were "gals." Sometimes choice of words do not mean to offend, it is just sometimes hard to find a suitable word to fit. I have listen to Biden over the years and there is not anything racist about him.
