A Southern California resort accidentally jumped into the political fray this week, revealing the dangers of forgetting to suppress your email recipients during an election season.

The flare-up started innocently enough, when the Palms Hotel at Indian Head emailed its listserv to remind people to book rooms to watch this weekend's Perseid meteor shower, accidentally leaving the list unsuppressed.

A regional field organizer for the Obama campaign replied to the email — and all of its recipients — to ask if the hotel would be interested in hosting a fundraiser for the President's re-election. Predictably, chaos ensued.
