Over-population is the greatest threat to any species, civilization, nation, citizen or personal dream. Is the American Dream about to end? I don't think so. Americans are going to fight for it, stop illegal immigration, stop automatic birthright citizenship, drastically reduce legal immigration to the 1970's replacement levels probably following a 5 to 10 year moratorium until all these illegal aliens are out of here, and then do the other things we need to do to fix our economy like pass the FairTax, protect our trade, end the War on Drugs and drill baby drill.

If the American dream is materialism, then the article has much to say. If the American Dream is a quality of life, then we have much to look forward to, provided we can learn to think differently. Quality of life is the essentials and then a proper attitude. Or, a proper attitude goes along way for providing the essentials.

Quality of life should be reflected in the quality of our material possessions as well. Quality, not quantity. Almost sounds conservative in nature.

Homes used to be built in the colonial days of great quality. Many of these homes are still well maintained and may be a hundred or two hundred or more years old. Do we build that quality today? How many will last 100 yrs.? 200?

Pick a material product that should last, are they built to last? Quality is reflected in our productive abilities, as our attitudes are reflected in that product.

Older folks surely must see the difference in the candy bar? It used to cost much less and was twice as big, and of better quality. Why is that? Had we had to pay more for the same quality and quantity along the way, we would have realized that our dollar was being debased much sooner than now. Perhaps we would have asked more questions along the way? Of course we would have had to think for ourselves and not rely on others to think for us.

We have more dollars now, and more debt, yet products that are of lesser quality and quantity. This looks like a cycle, not in a good direction.

Perhaps if we planned and saved, then shopped for superior quality, American Made, then perhaps we would help others and ourselves. Then the resources that we do not end up wasting foolishly could be used elsewhere in the world as an export.

Hey Judy, I look forward to the superior American Made coffee pot as well.

Sorry, a little long winded, just that the Solent Green seemed repulsive and made me ramble.
