Sen. Murray's Petition Against Tanker Contract

Sign Sen. Murray's petition against the Air Force Contract to Airbus along with 40/100 billion dollars of US taxes and 44,000 US jobs!

    http://murray.senate.gov/tankers/index.cfm

    Also please sign:

Rep. Todd Tiahrt petition against the Air Force giving their tanker contract to France along with 40/100 billion US taxpayer dollars and 44,000 American jobs!

    Tanker outrage petition.

    http://www.house.gov/tiahrt/tanker_survey.htm

NOC/Airbus won the coveted $40/$100Bn Air Force contract - something I am furious about as we’re spending $168Bn in order to send people $600 yet we’re sending 40,000 $1,000 PER WEEK jobs out of the country with another $100Bn of our tax dollars. This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard of! And when the employment situation in this country gets worse and the tax base shrinks and the government cuts the Air Force’s contract back due to funding cuts - let’s remember to laugh at these idiots who are supposedly there to protect the interests of AMERICANS but decided they’d rather defend the unemployed ones.

So we are taking $100Bn US dollars and using them to buy Euros to pay Airbus - gee, that should be a real help for the dollar right? "We should have an American tanker built by an American company with American workers," said Rep. Todd Tiahrt, R-Kan., who represents the district in Wichita where Boeing would have done much of the tanker work. Tiahrt said he will try to reverse the decision.

It's too bad the senator thinks illegal immigration isn't a problem worth addressing substantively.

    Here's her ABI Scores:

    http://grades.betterimmigration.com/tes ... &VIPID=840

A solid 'F'. Even worse, she has gotten worse in her most recent evaluations on the subject. Washington has produced two US senators that BOTH have 'F's. Wow... (at least my state only has 1 of those...)

As much as I do agree with her about the tanker issue, I won't be signing that petition ...until she starts to show some real effort in dealing with our issue seriously.

Agree Airborne. Maybe the best thing to do is write her and say:

"When you help us, we will help you. Now, here's our petition...."

..And see what happens. She is also a mouthpiece for/apologist for BGates and Co. up in the Redmond area too (although not quite as much as Sen. Cantwell).

She needs to stop the hypocrisy, and get serious in representing the mass of the population she works for...

I don't know much anout the choice other than that DOD said Boeing.s design had some safety problems. Anyone know what they were? or is this just a red herring?

Our American military deserves equipment made in America by Americans.

No one addresses the possibility of sabotage--a bolt not tightened and the U.S. loses a multi-million dollar plane and the crew members--human beings--someone's husband/son/wife/daughter/mother/father/etc.

What about national security technology the planes are equipped with--give everyone in the world access to it?

Our safety, our liberty, depends upon preserving the Constitution of the United States as our fathers made it inviolate. The people of the United States are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.

I thought Lou did a good job of putting her and the Congress on the spot tonight.

He was thankful for her effort, but at the same time lashed out at her and the rest of Congress. "IS THIS THE LINE IN THE SAND ON FREE TRADE?" mentioning the unions and workers who have been hurt by NAFTA trade deals that hurt American workers.

CCUSA, MyAmerican, et al... Oh, just to be perfectly clear, I wasn't trying to be a 'stick in the mud' here. I appreciate the post and what she is trying to do - well, in this particular case.

She's been conspicuously 'no-show' on immigration related issues and hasn't done 1 darn thing to help our side at all.

    I agree PhredE.

She and the rest of them need a wake up call.

They can't keep letting our country be sold from underneath us! We have had enough. These trade deals need to be changed immediately!
