Ohio Republican Rep. Files Articles Of Impeachment Against Biden

Ohio Republican Rep. Files Articles Of Impeachment Against Biden

    By Mike LaChance - September 22, 2021

Rep. Bob Gibbs of Ohio is leading a group of other Republicans in impeachment proceedings against Joe Biden.
This may not go anywhere now, but consider it a preview of the future.

“At some point, they’re going to be held accountable for their actions, and this is kind of putting them on notice.”
    Good for Rep. Gibbs.

If Republicans take back the House and or the Senate, Biden’s impeachment will likely be on the menu.
    Newsmax has details:

GOP Rep. Gibbs Files 3 Articles of Impeachment Against Biden
House Republicans, led by Rep. Bob Gibbs, R-Ohio, have filed articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden, citing the border crisis, chaotic and deadly Afghanistan withdrawal, and attempted to break constitutional law on extending the eviction ban.
Reps. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., Brian Babin, R-Texas, and Randy Weber, R-Texas, signed on to the three-pronged complaint — even if the Democrat-controlled House under Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., are sure to ignore it, Gibbs told the Washington Examiner on Tuesday.
And despite Democrats holding only a slim majority in the House, Vice President Kamala Harris can cast a tie-breaking vote in the Senate.
“Obviously, it’s not going to go anywhere with Speaker Pelosi,” Gibbs told the Examiner, adding, but “it shows that there are some Republicans that think that this president needs to be impeached, he needs to be removed from office one way or another.
“At some point, they’re going to be held accountable for their actions, and this is kind of putting them on notice.”
    Good for Rep. Gibbs.

New group of GOP lawmakers file articles of impeachment against Biden

A group of four GOP lawmakers on Tuesday filed articles of impeachment against President Biden, saying he should be removed from office for not securing the border, for the way U.S. troops were removed from Afghanistan and for seeking to impose a ban on evictions even when he said it might not pass constitutional muster.

This is the second time articles of impeachment have been introduced pertaining to Biden. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) filed articles of impeachment the day after Biden was sworn into office.
Neither effort will go far in a House where Democrats hold a slim majority, but the latest effort shows how the introduction of articles of impeachment is becoming more common in today's polarized House.
Former President Trump was impeached twice during his four-year presidency, but was not convicted either time by the Senate.
Republicans are hoping to win back the House majority in next year's midterms, however, and GOP leaders could face pressure in such a scenario to move impeachment articles backed by some of their most conservative members.
The latest impeachment effort was first reported by The Washington Examiner.
In the new articles, a copy of which were shared with The Hill, the House members argued that Biden's conduct "warrants impeachment and trial, removal from office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust, or profit under the United States."
Gibbs also tweeted about the introduction of the articles Tuesday night.

It’s clear the President is not up to the job, that his entire administration is willing to thumb its nose at the Constitution. Though Pelosi’s House will not hold @POTUS accountable, it’s incumbent upon House Republicans to call out his egregious violations of his oath of office

Trump in January became the first U.S. president in history to be impeached twice following his actions ahead of the deadly Jan. 6 Capitol riot. He was previously impeached in 2019 after records revealed that he asked the Ukrainian president to investigate the Biden family amid his 2020 presidential campaign.

This country will fold in on itself; but I think that is the plan
