Thread: Response from Sen. Hutchison, TX, about Sotomayor Apptmnt.

On June 10, I emailed every member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Republican Senator Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and my other senator, Hutchison, objecting to the appointment of Judge Sotomayor to the Supreme Court. In my email, I cited objections raised in several newspaper articles which I cited. I just received this response. Although I did not mention the Second Amendment, this seems to raise Sen. Hutchison's only reservation to the appointment.

Well at least you got a response that shows someone read the email. I usually get "thank you for your input and I will consider your opinion about the legislation. Your messages are important (which means to me that this is a canned response and no one cares that my last message may have been about not getting colored toilet paper to match the decor.)

You are right, vortex. Both Senators Cornyn and Hutchison always respond to correspondence, and for the most part these are informative responses about the specific issue(s) raised, although this has not always been true.

I got the same. I have been getting the SAME form letters for at least a year now. They don't care about us!
