Eight men were found dead Saturday in Juárez, adding to the more than 420 homicides since the beginning of the year, officials said Sunday.
All of the victims were shot to death in the continuing violence that has gripped the city.

Officials began finding bodies at about 2 p.m. Saturday, when investigators with Mexican police found an unidentified man, between 40 and 45 years old, at Crucero Fray JunÃ*pero and Melquiades Alanis streets. The man had been shot in the mid section, according to an autopsy.

About 30 minutes later, investigators found the body of Everardo Villalpando Rojas, 30, in a pickup at E.J.E. Vial Juan Gabriel and Francisco I. Madero streets. He appeared to have multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body.

Another man at the scene, 32-year-old Joaquin Isabel HuÃ*zar MartÃ*nez, was transported to a hospital but died hours later.

Mexican police were then called to 3634 General Treviño in the Plutarco ElÃ*as Calles colonia shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday. The family of Jesús Adán Saldivar Guzmán, 36, found his body in a ravine adjacent to their home. After arriving, officers said Saldivar Guzmán had several gunshot wounds.

No arrests have been made. Most of the homicides are believed to be linked to warring drug cartels.

In a separate incident, a woman was taken by ambulance to the Bridge of the Americas to be transported to an El Paso hospital at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, according to radio transmissions. Sheriff's deputies have not confirmed if the woman

was taken to a local hospital. The woman would be the 11th person taken to an El Paso hospital from across the border since the beginning of the year.
