    All The President's Race Baiters

The U.S. House of Representatives met on Tuesday and voted, not on health care or military actions or tax cuts, but on whether to reprimand Rep. Joe Wilson for shouting "You Lie" during Barack Obama's speech last week. After the outburst, Wilson immediately apologized directly to the White House, yet the Democrats wanted to make it a political circus and called for an apology on the floor of the House. Wilson said no!

But that's not all that happened yesterday. It appears that Jimmy Carter (remember him? The worst president ever?) can't keep his mouth shut and is playing the perfect tool for the Democrats. In an interview on Tuesday, Carter said that Wilson and basically anyone who is opposed to Obama are racists. Can Jimmy Carter please shut up and go away!

First, the Wilson update from the U.S. House. In a vote of 240-179, House members passed a resolution to formally rebuke Wilson for his comment during Obama's address to a joint session of Congress.

As the Associated Press reports, "The rare resolution of disapproval was pushed through by Democrats insisting that Wilson, a South Carolina lawmaker, had violated basic rules of decorum and civility in his outburst. Republicans dismissed the vote as a political "witch hunt" and a waste of precious time and taxpayers' money."

On the Democrat side, 233 voted for the resolution while 12 voted against. For the Republicans, 167 voted against the resolution while 7 voted for it. Those seven Republicans were Reps. Joseph Cao, Joanne Emerson, Jeff Flake, Walter Jones, Tom Petri, Dana Rohrabacher, and Bob Inglis.

This certainly was a political stunt. Wilson did apologize, and Obama accepted the apology. End of story. It's not like mumbles, boos, and other comments were not uttered before:

But, the real issue for today is Jimmy Carter's reaction to Wilson and his comments that play the race card once again as a way to distract and deflect from criticism of Obama's policies. As noted in an AP news story, "Former President Jimmy Carter said Tuesday that U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson's outburst to President Barack Obama during a speech to Congress last week was an act "based on racism" and rooted in fears of a black president."

"I think it's based on racism," Carter said at a town hall held at his presidential center in Atlanta. "There is an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president."

The Georgia Democrat said the outburst was a part of a disturbing trend directed at the president that has included demonstrators equating Obama to Nazi leaders.

"Those kind of things are not just casual outcomes of a sincere debate on whether we should have a national program on health care," he said. "It's deeper than that."

Carter needs to go away! What he says is irrelevant in today's political discourse. The main reason I'm giving any attention to his comments is to remind people that this tactic is still being used, but the more we pay attention to it, the weaker the attack becomes. Obama, his team, and people like Jimmy Carter are the ones who can't move beyond race. They use it whenever they can.

Here's a clip of Keith Olbermann who tries to elevate Carter's comments to that of a serious issue.... as if opposition to socialist policies of health care, taxation, indoctrination, cronyism, and corruption are all motivated by a group of racists.

Just look at another example from Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA):

Remember Obama's comments about the white police officer? Obama immediately sided with the black professor who was charged with disorderly conduct and let the hint of racism permeate the air. Obama was wrong! But that doesn't stop him or people like Jimmy Carter.

Obama was supposed to be the first "post racial" president, but the left is fixated by race. They continue to be dismayed that the American people don't embrace their socialist policies. Rather than look inside at the policies themselves, they instead look for excuses as to what is wrong with the American people. There is nothing wrong with us. We just want our country back.
