VIDEO: Leukemia patient loses his insurance coverage because of Obamacare regulations

    from ABC15 (emphasis mine):
“I’ve worked hard because I’ve had to, and I’ve had to, because cancer runs in my family,” says Cerpok, who picked his current health insurance based on that family history. His monthly premium is just about half of his monthly take-home pay.
Back in 2006, he found out he had an incurable form of leukemia that requires ongoing treatment until he dies.
In 2012, his treatment bill was more than $350,000. But because of his insurance, his out-of-pocket was only $4,500.
That’s about to change because Michael just got a letter from his insurance carrier saying as of January 1, he would be dropped from coverage because of new regulations under Obamacare. His doctor at the Mayo Clinic may be gone as well.
“Now it doesn’t mean I can’t go see my current doctor, but my $4,500 out-of-pocket, is going to turn into a minimum of $26,000 out-of-pocket to see the doctor that I’ve been seeing the last seven years,” he said.

Remember when Obama said, “If you like your plan, you can keep it.” It was a bald faced lie. There’s nothing affordable about Obamacare. It’s actually hurting people with pre-existing conditions.

Man with Incurable Leukemia Dropped from Insurance thanks to Obamacare

Obamacare is supposed to increase access to affordable healthcare for everyone. Yet, one Arizona man has experienced just the opposite. Now, he’ll have to shell out an extra $21,500 per year just to stay alive.

According to ABC 15, Michael Cerpok of Fountain Hills, Arizona developed an incurable form of leukemia in 2006 and will require treatment for the rest of his life. Luckily, even though he is a business owner and thus doesn’t have access to an employer-sponsored plan, he already owned a health insurance plan due to his family’s history of cancer.

With his plan, Cerpok only pays $4,500 of his $350,000 annual healthcare expenses. However, according to the report, that’s about to change. That’s because, due to Obamacare regulations, his insurer plans to drop him at the end of this year.

As a result, Cerpok claims he will now have to pay at least $26,000 out of pocket each year for healthcare. That’s nearly six times the amount he’s currently paying. Both he and his wife are considering taking up second jobs to pay the additional expenses, even though Cerpok already runs two businesses.

Unfortunately for Cerpok, fewer employers are offering health plans these days and others are trimming their existing plans. And, his wife better not go work at UPS, as it plans to drop 15,000 spouses from its health insurance thanks to the President’s healthcare utopia. If either goes to Trader Joe’s, they’ll have to work full-time to get any benefits, thanks to its abandonment of part-time health coverage in response to Obamacare. Those, and a laundry list of other employers that have reduced or eliminated their healthcare offerings, won’t do Cerpok much good.

But, let’s look at the bright side. Cerpok’s business taxes will help fund doctors visits for people he’s never met that are happy to leach off hard workers just like him.
