WASHINGTON, D.C.

WASHINGTON -- Today, November 6, Dan Stein, the President of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) is joining Representatives Joe Wilson, Nathan Deal, Dean Heller, Sam Johnson, and Marsha Blackburn to discuss the weak verification measures in the House health care reform bill.

According to analysis from the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) the number of illegal immigrants who would eligible to receive government subsidized health benefits under H.R. 3962, the America's Affordable Health Care Act of 2009, has increased by 2.5 million from their original bill, H.R. 3200. Like the earlier version of the legislation, H.R. 3962 contains gaping loopholes in eligibility verification procedures that would allow illegal aliens to gain access to publicly financed health care benefits.

FAIR president Dan Stein will discuss the loopholes in the legislation and FAIR's support for amendments being offered by Representatives Wilson, Deal, Heller, Blackburn and Johnson that would prevent American taxpayers from being forced to finance benefits for illegal immigrants. According to polling, 80 percent of Americans oppose the inclusion of illegal aliens under health care reform.

Who: Reps. FAIR President Dain Stein, Representatives Joe Wilson (R-S.C.), Nathan Deal (R-Ga.), Dean Heller (R-Nev.), Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), and Sam Johnson (R-Tex.).

What: Press conference to announce amendments to Pelosi's health care takeover bill to strengthen enforcement mechanisms.

When & Where: 12:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6 at House Triangle (located in the grassy triangle on the House side of the Capitol's East Front)
