Successful propaganda is composed of equal parts deception and suppression, and the apparatchiks in the mainstream media are much better at the latter.

They may have erred in pushing the Arizona assassination attempt beyond its ideological limits last week, but they succeeded brilliantly a few months earlier in suppressing news of a nearly lethal attempt by a genuine leftist.

In September 2010 Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon was scheduled to speak at Penn Valley Community College in Kansas City.

At some point, wearing black clothes and a bullet-proof vest, 22 year-old Casey Brezik bolted out of a classroom, knife in hand, and slashed the throat of a dean. As he would later admit, he confused the dean with Nixon.

The story never left Kansas City. It is not hard to understand why. Knives lack the political sex appeal of guns, and even Keith Olbermann would have had a hard time turning Brezik into a Tea Partier.

Indeed, Brezik seems to have inhaled just about every noxious vapor in the left-wing miasma: environmental extremism, radical Islam, anti-capitalism, anti-Zionism and Christophobia, among others.

In his "About Me" box on Facebook, Brezik listed as his favorite quotation one from progressive poster boy, Che Guevara. The quote begins "Our every action is a battle cry against imperialism" and gets more belligerent from there.

On his wall postings, Brezik ranted, "How are we the radical(s) (left) to confront the NEW RIGHT, if we avoid confrontation all together?"

As good as his word, Brezik's marched on Toronto in June 2010 to protest the G20 Summit, where he was arrested, charged, and deported. "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED," he boasted.

Like many on the left, Brezik seemed to have found religion.

In reference to an article about Terry Jones and his proposed Quran burning, Brezik posted on the day before his planned assault, "This is now a Holy war. Scriptures have been desecrated. War U can't handle. Make a choice and quick."

No doubt, Brezik is something of a whack job, but the various rages that he acquired -culminating in Sudden Jihadi Syndrome - are those to which our students are exposed on a daily basis. For the last century or more, it is the progressive fever swamps that have nurtured most of the world's hate and virtually all of its violence, including, paradoxically, radical Islam.

As Casey Berzik cried out with multicultural flair, "El Futuro es La REVOLUCION!" But if an assassin strikes in a media vacuum, and no one hears him, can there ever be a revolution?

Revolution to Casey Brezik apparently meant slashing the throat of a middle-aged dean at a community college.

The 22-year-old Brezik is accused of attacking 55-year-old Al Dimmitt Jr., the dean of instruction at Metropolitan Community College's Penn Valley campus, before a scheduled press conference by Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon yesterday. Nixon, as you can imagine, canceled his presser because there's really no way to follow up a stabbing.

Brezik liked to spread his revolutionary rhetoric to his 24 Facebook friends (I've already changed the number twice because people keep unfriending him), including posting just hours prior to yesterday's attack.

In the hours before yesterday's attack, Brezik posted the cryptic message below.



Brezik left us hanging on what those two options were, although to stab the dean or not to stab the dean was allegedly his choice.

One guy who simply replied "crazy" to this rant:

Revolution....What are you afraid of? If your is so bad that you want to go about a revolution? You must also be willing to lay your life on the line being its not worth continuing to live this way. Otherwise your just making a statement.....Cowards. You kow who you are.
Brezik was apparently living out his anarchist fantasy. In June, he bragged about getting arrested at the Toronto G20 summit:

Crossed the security fence. Ran from the cops. Was tackled. Spit on an officer. Was arrested, charged, and deported. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

The Kansas City Star reports that police are looking into whether Nixon was the target given Brezik's Facebook statuses (for real) and his unique wardrobe choice: a bullet-proof vest. And those reports about "demonic" tats, well, Brezik reportedly has the anarchy symbol tattooed on his hand. So leave the satanists out of this.

Brezik probably sees himself as a political prisoner. But his revolution will have to go on hold now that Jackson County prosecutors have charged him with two counts of first-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action.

Meanwhile, Dimmitt is reportedly in stable condition after undergoing surgery.

Finding out he (allegedly) slashed the wrong guy bummed out Brezik. The news that he had wounded a college official, and that the official had survived, disappointed Brezik, the sources said.

​The actual victim of the stabbing, 55-year-old Al Dimmitt Jr., is expected to make a full recovery. Brezik is also accused of nicking the school's chancellor, Mark James, who was trying to pull Brezik off Dimmitt.

Nixon was scheduled to speak at the Penn Valley campus Tuesday morning but canceled after learning about the attack (see a picture of the scene via KMBC). He wasn't even on the grounds at the time of the attack.

Brezik reportedly didn't have a problem with Nixon but allegedly targeted him because he's the governor, definitely not one of the perks of the job.

Not that this would alarm anyone, but Brezik was wearing a bullet-proof vest in class and was carrying a knife in a computer lab.

As you can imagine, Brezik is suffering from a mental illness. Reports say he was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia in 2006 and has been in mental hospitals at least four times. He just started attending MCC-Penn Valley three weeks ago, and no one considered him a threat. Hey MCC, maybe you'd like to review your screening process.

A judge entered a not guilty plea for Brezik yesterday. His next court appearance is scheduled for October 6.

We missed it probably because no one printed it I would venture to guess.

Says he used a knife so that alone tells you that you can commit crimes as long as you DO NOT use A HANDGUN OR other GUNS. If it were a gun the ANTI-GUN CROWD would have JUMPED all over this story.

This could be another reason anti-gun crowds and attorneys did not attack. Maybe the laws (gun laws) in place worked and did not allow him to purchase a firearm,since he was deemed mentally unstable.

The Kansas City Star is reporting this morning that Gov. Jay Nixon was the intended target of a stabbing at a community college in that city earlier this week. The dean of the school was stabbed but is recovering from his injuries.

The alleged stabber apparently believed the dean was Nixon.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Police say a man accused of stabbing a Kansas City college official had intended to attack Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon.

Snapp says that when detectives told him he had actually stabbed a dean at Penn Valley Community college, Brezik appeared upset about getting the wrong person.

Brezik, of Raytown, faces two counts of first-degree assault and armed criminal action. A judge has entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

The attack Tuesday occurred shortly before Nixon was to speak at the college. Nixon had not yet arrived and the event was canceled.
