Anti-Trump FBI Official Reportedly Escorted Out Of FBI Building, Is Under Investigation

During a hearing in early August members of the Senate Judiciary Committee pressed FBI Director Christopher Wray over FBI assistant special agent Timothy Thibault. He had been in charge of the Washington field office.

One of the reasons Thibault came under fire was for anti-Trump and anti-Republican social media posts.

The second reason was allegations that he had “covered up derogatory info about Mr. Biden while working at the FBI.”
Politico reported:
Speaking at a Senate Judiciary Committee oversight hearing, Wray appeared to condemn the alleged actions of Timothy Thibault, who he said was an FBI assistant special agent in charge at the Washington field office until “relatively recently.”

Senate Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) first raised alarms about Thibault’s alleged partisan actions in May, demanding that the Justice Department and the FBI investigate whether the agent violated department guidelines with his social media posts. Grassley sent a second letter to the Justice Department and the FBI in late July saying that he had received “highly credible” whistleblower accounts alleging that Thibault had downplayed or discredited negative information obtained about Joe Biden’s son during the 2020 election.
Wray on Thursday didn’t definitively confirm or deny the allegations against Thibault and seemed to be trying to preserve his ability to act as an impartial decision-maker on potential discipline against the agent. However, the FBI director stressed that the actions Kennedy was describing were “not representative of the FBI.”
According to a new report, Timothy Thibault was escorted out of the FBI building today.
The Washington Times reported:
A senior FBI official in the bureau’s Washington field office has abruptly resigned after coming under congressional scrutiny for suspected political bias in handling the investigation of Hunter Biden’s laptop computer.
The Washington Times learned that Timothy Thibault, an assistant special agent in charge, was forced to leave his post, according to two former FBI officials familiar with the situation.
Mr. Thibault was seen exiting the bureau’s elevator on Friday, escorted by two or three “headquarters-looking types,” according to eyewitness accounts provided to one of the former officials.
It is not clear whether Mr. Thibault, a 25-year FBI veteran who was on leave for at least a month after revelations about political statements he made while leading the public corruption unit, left on his own accord or was forced out of the bureau.
This will be updated as we learn more…
