Geraldo: McCabe Appears Headed Down the 'Martha Stewart Minimum Security Prison Path'

Geraldo Rivera said Friday it's "ironic" how former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe could be one of the few people to end up in serious legal "jeopardy" after the investigations into Russian election interference and Hillary Clinton's emails.

A Department of Justice report states that McCabe lied multiple times under oath about the FBI's probe of the Clinton Foundation. On Thursday, the DOJ's internal watchdog sent a criminal referral for McCabe to the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington.

"How ironic [is it] that Andrew McCabe will be one of the few people actually suffering criminal jeopardy for lies he told?" Rivera said.

Rivera said that McCabe "was thrown under the bus" by former FBI director James Comey, a sentiment echoed by President Trump on Twitter.

Comey -- in a CNN interview -- said that he could be a witness in a potential criminal case against McCabe.

“I like him very much as a person, but sometimes even good people do things they shouldn’t do,” he said.

Rivera said that Comey is now trying to "shun" McCabe and distance himself, but that McCabe will be "the most vivid" of all the indictments as a result of the Russia probe.

"[McCabe] is headed down the Martha Stewart minimum security prison path," he said.

Rivera also predicted that Special Counsel Robert Mueller will "grudgingly" concede that there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
