Bracing For A Gun Battle

PATRIOTS: The anti-gun crew led by Obama, Biden, Feinstein, Schumer, and Bloomberg just got embarrassed when the Democrat majority Senate did not pass one new gun control bill. With a failure to achieve more gun control at the federal level, the infuriated Obama Administration is going to be push for more anti-gun laws at the state level.

After the Senate defeat, Obama said, "I see this as round one...We will keep moving forward and build public support. We will not be defeated. We are not going away."

The anti-gunners are not going away and neither are we. We must prepare for this battle on our rights that will continue to rage throughout Obama's second term. It is imperative we collect as many resources as possible to challenge anti-gun rights laws from coast to coast. WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW!

After nearly a year in courts, on April 2nd, SAF won a preliminary injunction against a part of the State of New Mexico's concealed carry statute on the grounds that it violates the right of equal protection under the law. SAF filed the legal action on behalf of John Jackson. While the law allowed Mr. Jackson to openly carry a firearm, there are certain areas and circumstances when doing so would be imprudent or potentially in violation of other legal restrictions. This ruling will make it possible for Mr. Jackson and other legal resident aliens to exercise their right to bear arms.

Just as soon as we could celebrate that victory we were on to the next battle. SAF filed a motion for injunctive relief against Nebraska officials over a statutory prohibition that prevents non-citizens legally residing in the state from obtaining a concealed carry permit. SAF filed the lawsuit on behalf of 68-year-old Carlos Nino De Rivera Lajous, a Mexican citizen who has been legally residing in Lincoln since 1990.

Along with the need to raise funds to pay attorneys hired for important gun rights lawsuits, SAF must continue to pay thousands of dollars' worth of bills to maintain free grassroots meetings, trainings and seminars.

We currently have over 20 open cases we are involved in and it is our goal to earn a victory for each and every one of them. Our legal action ranges from lawsuits against cities, states, our Attorney General Eric Holder, and the challenge of certain rulings that violate our Second Amendment rights. There has been such an incredible union of Second Amendment Patriots since Obama was elected President. Not only through purchasing firearms but by standing together and standing up for our right to keep and bear arms. Since Obama took office there have been over 65 million firearms purchased in the United States, mostly due to the fear of Obama's anti-gun agenda.
We must continue to work together and attack this anti-gun agenda head on. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THE ANTI-GUNNERS MORE RABIBLY DETERMINED TO DESTROY THE SECOND AMENDMENT.

Financial needs could not have come at a worse time. We must not run out of funds during the middle of this fight. There is no way we could have budgeted for all this.
Anti-Gun groups have deep pockets and big donors contributing. We rely on the backbone of America which is great patriots like you.

Even worse...Sarah Brady Group and the Gun Ban Coalition are using the Connecticut shooting to push for new national anti-gun laws.

The liberal anti-gun media wants blood, and it's ours.
Gun grabbers think that past gun control efforts have worn us down and hope you and I will quit the fight to protect individual rights.

I am counting on you. I know times are tough for everyone but if you could please make a special emergency gift to SAF of $100 or $50 or whatever you can afford, anything will help.
Please contribute your emergency gift immediately. Tomorrow is too late. I know I can count on you.

Times are tough but as things get tougher it's critical we have gun rights.

To continue educational and legal action projects we rely on people like you who care. Unlike gun grabbers we don't have deep pockets or big shot donors but we will never back down from them. Not with our Second Amendment in jeopardy.

Sincerely yours,

Alan M. Gottlieb
