Mexicans Protest Border Fence With Trees

Treeline Will Stretch 318 Miles Between Mexico, Texas

PIEDRAS NEGRAS, Mexico -- The first of 400,000 trees are being planted in northern Mexico to form a "green wall" along the border.

It's a protest against the huge fence the United States is building along the border.

The treeline will eventually stretch for 318 miles along the border between Mexico and Texas.

The governor of the Mexican border state said the trees will be a "wall of life" in contrast to what he said is the U.S. wall of "shame and hate."

Washington said the border fence is critical to U.S. security. Critics said it fuels animosity between the two countries and raises environmental and private property concerns.

The mayor of a Texas border town attended Friday's tree planting in the town of Piedras Negras. Eagle Pass Mayor Chad Foster opposes the ongoing construction of 670 miles of border fence.

LOL! Who's going to water those trees along 318 miles of DESERT?

What morons! Instead of spending the money on their citizens, they spend it trying to get rid of their citizens.

Well that's nice......if we thought trees would work, we wouldn't have gotten to the point where a fence was needed. You can be sure they wouldn't have hesitated to build a wall if the same type of people were flowing in their direction in that massive of numbers.

The "wall of hate". How about a "flood of hate for the American citizen and our laws." Oh Ya, I'm insulted NOT.

They want to be moochers and they want us to LIKE IT!

Plant plant plant and how about adding flowers with the trees. Beautify that whole area. And while they're at it they could pick up some of that trash left by their citizens sneaking our way.
