Officials say more charges possible in pot bust
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB Fox 41) -- We told you earlier this week about a major marijuana bust in both Jefferson and Bullitt Counties.
Now officials say more charges could be coming.
Antonio Avalos, Mariela Diazoduardo, Cardosa Nunez and Ruben Yanez are all facing charges of growing and trafficking marijuana.
Click HERE to see our original story on their arrests.
Police say they found about 160 lbs. of pot growing in very extensive operations at three homes in the area.
Officials say these busts were an overlap and continuation of a large bust in December, where police netted 6,000 lbs. of marijuana.
"Unfortunately, in today's world, there'll be somebody coming up right behind them with an equal amount or bigger and bringing it in, but that's definitely a step in the right direction," said Lt. David Jude of Kentucky State Police. "That's a huge amount of marijuana removed from our communities."
Police say more charges could follow, after they seized several cars, a boat, electronics and televisions at the homes.
