GRAPHIC VIDEO: Teen Girls Beat Mayoral Candidate

A former Minneapolis Democrat mayoral candidate was visiting the the Mall of America on the day after Christmas looking to cash in on the deals, when a male teenager snatched his iPhone at about 7pm in a Starbucks.

Mark Andrew began to follow the suspect and attempted to chase him down in order to regain the phone. It was at this point that two teenage girls pounced on him and began to beat him with billy clubs.

“One jumped on my back and one started beating me upside the head,” Andrew recounts. “To be as rageful and as violent as they we’re the whole time, is deeply troubling.”

The girls allegedly told him “we’re going to kill you” during the beating. He added, “They we’re fighting the whole time, scratching, kicking, hitting me.”

“If somebody is gonna do that to me or somebody else, I’m not a bystander by nature I’ll go in and fight,” Andrew said, according to CBS Minnesota.

He was taken to a local hospital and treated for 9 stiches after the attack. The two girls we’re taken into custody but the male teenager is still on the lose.

Andrew says, “I was targeted because the phone was out and I’m 63 years old, and I’m sure they thought that I was easy pickins.” Luckily for the former candidate, his phone was quickly recovered after the suspect reportedly dropped it while trying to get away. “We need to make sure that people who do these crimes, get brought to justice.”

One of the most disturbing parts about this incident is the fact that in the most crowded mall in the United States, Andrew was forced to fend off the attackers on his own. No one stepped in to help.
