I recently watched the DVD "Greece: Secrets of the Past (IMAX)".

I hated it.

The entire DVD was like a long Frazer/Friends/Seinfeld episode, with a continuous score of soft music in the background, and continuous shots of the "beauty of Greece" — cloudless sunny skies, deep azure water, and lots of attractive women in revealing flower prints and soft pastel colors.

In short, the whole DVD was a tourist advertisement.

Now, if you would, please think more along the lines of movies like "Troy" and "300". Once upon a time, Greece was a land of fierce warriors like Achilleus, Theseus, Agamemnon, Ajax, and Menelaus... when the Trojans tried to steal their women (symbolized by Paris of Troy stealing Helen), they went to war and burned Troy to the ground. Then they took Trojan lands, and expanded into Asia Minor.

Now, Greece advertises itself as an alluring tourist destination...

so you too can go see the ruins of Greece's once-great cities like Athens and Sparta...

This mentality seems to be omnipresent amongst European countries, all looking for tourist dollars...

I claim and allege that this mindset is related to the flood "immigrants" that now pour into Europe and European-rooted nations like America.

I do not think Achilleus, the greatest European warrior, the "Fury of Achaea", the "Fury of the Greeks", would be proud..
