Pelosi: "It's the Affordable Care Act, not Obamacare" Is this woman certifiable?

Pelosi: "It's the Affordable Care Act, not Obamacare" Is this woman certifiable?...

    why yes, yes she is.

I just saw this over at White House Dossier (and we thank him) and couldn't believe what I was seeing with my very own eyes.

People actually voted for this woman?

Pelosi Is No Longer Even Trying To Appear Sane

March 20, 2014 by Sam Rolley

Cue up the laugh track. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) delivered some real gut-busters Thursday as she talked to reporters about President Barack Obama’s record and explained the finer points of his healthcare overhaul.
Pelosi has claimed that midterm voters will support Democratic candidates because November leaves time enough for them to reap the benefits of Obamacare and look past damning headlines from earlier in the year.
She doubled-down during her press conference, telling reporters that it simply isn’t true that Democrats are running away from Obamacare.
“This isn’t about politics. This is about the health of America,” she said. “We don’t weigh its value as to what it means politically. We weigh its value as to what it means to the health, well-being, economic and health security of America’s families. Just because people say, I don’t want to repeal it, but I do want to fix it, doesn’t mean they’re walking away from it.”
She also went off on a reporter who called the healthcare law Obamacare, contending that it was a derogatory moniker designed to make Americans forget that the coverage is affordable.
“By the way, it’s called the Affordable Care Act. It’s called the Affordable Care Act,” Pelosi said. “That’s a case we have to make. We’re grown-ups.”
One reporter noted that even Obama says Obamacare; Pelosi said she’d set the President straight.
“Affordable. Affordable. There’s a reason. Affordable. Affordable. Affordable. Affordable. Affordable,” she continued her bizarre lecture. “The reason they changed the name of it is because they wanted to get away, they — the opponents — from the word ‘affordable.’ And that’s why I’m patient with some of these comments. Whatever it is, it’s infinitely more affordable than the path that we were on.”
If the aforementioned statements left any question about Pelosi’s sanity, she also claimed Thursday that President Obama has “all along extended the hand of friendship to the Republicans.”
She went on to discuss the President’s relationship with Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio).
“This is about as nonpartisan a President as I’ve ever served with,” Pelosi declared.

Now That It’s Not Doing So Well, President Won’t Call It Obamacare

    November 19,20134

    Politico
reports that all references to Obamacare have been scrubbed from Healthcare.gov, and that leading Democrats no longer use the term.

With the president’s approval ratings at record lows, a broken website and Obama under fire for his pledge that people could keep their plans, the “Affordable Care Act” has returned.

The president didn’t say “Obamacare” once during his nearly hourlong news conference last week, while he referred to the “Affordable Care Act” a dozen times. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi went so far as to correct David Gregory on “Meet the Press” Sunday on the proper terminology. And White House talking points distributed to Democrats and obtained by POLITICO repeatedly refer to the Affordable Care Act in suggested sound bites, not Obamacare.
In July 2012, shortly after the Supreme Court upheld the law, the President was proud to call it “Obamacare,” and deemed it party of his legacy.

When a reporter from Rolling Stone asked President Obama if he would “mind if historians call the achievement Obamacare?” He replied, “I’ll be very proud. . . . As time goes on, as people see what it does, as it gets refined and improved, people will say, ‘This was the last piece to our basic social compact.’”
It’s not that long ago the President liked the term!

But Obama last year reappropriated the term for himself, making the phrase a staple of his stump speech and hawking “I (heart) Obamacare” bumper stickers.

“We passed Obamacare — yes, I like the term — we passed it because I do care, and I want to put these choices in your hands where they belong,” Obama said at a typical stop in Iowa last October.
As recently as October, the President’s social media platform still called it Obamacare. The President also used it on his Organizing for America (or is it Action?) web site, on a signup page titled “I Like Obamacare.”

Pelosi: Obamacare's Affordability Will Help Democrats, You Guys

    Guy Benson | Mar 20, 2014

In advance of Obamacare's fourth anniversary, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi held a press conference to tout her party's grand "accomplishment." Turnout was less than stellar:

Things went downhill from there. The NRCC has a full recap of her performance, elements of which are too fun to resist posting here. In response to one reporter's question, Pelosi said the unpopular law is a political winner for Democrats, chiding the journalist for using the term "Obamacare" in the first place:

It's the Affordable Care Act, people. Even though it...isn't affordable for millions upon millions of people, including most of the previously-uninsured population. Also, it's a real headache to keep up with the lexicon rules. For awhile, "Obamacare" was a vicious Republican slur. Then it was totally fine to use because Team Obama embraced it. Now that the administration has backed awayfrom the term (hilarious context here), Pelosi is back to being a stickler for formality. And MSNBC is back to doing its thing. As for the notion that Obamacare is good politics for Democrats, I give you this:

Pelosi: Health law is a ‘winner’ for Democrats

Oddly, Pelosi chose to name-check Sink in one of her answers. She...is aware ofwhat happened in Florida, yes? Finally, the former Speaker was challenged about Obamacare's rising premiums. She feigned (?) ignorance, then shuffled away from the microphone:

She demands names! Who, precisely, is predicting higher premiums? Well, here's one name: Kathleen Sebelius -- who, according to industry officials, is understating the degree of cost hikes. Parting thought: Is Pelosi so insulated as to be unaware of these facts, or is she just lying?

Pelosi: Hey, Stop Calling It ObamaCare! It’s The ‘Affordable’ Care Act!

During yet another entertaining press conference, Nancy Pelosi on Friday bristled at the idea that anyone would call the Affordable Care Act “ObamaCare.” See if you can count how many times she says “affordable.” (I lost count.)

Anyway, when reminded that Obama himself has referred to his troubled healthcare plan in the past as ObamaCare — he’s actually on record for saying he likes it — Pelosi said she tells the president to stop using the term as well.

Memo to Nancy: You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig.

She either needs a breathalyzer or a drug test. There seems to be something seriously wrong with this woman. Poor thing.
