    Congressman/Senator

In talking with a friend he was saying about these Congressman/Senators that get thrown in jail and still collect pensions and such.

I was trying to think of the Congressman or Senator appoximately 4 or 5ish years ago that got thrown in the pokey. Can't recall his name but as I recall he was very mouthy and had a real moppy hairdo......
I'd recognize the name if mentioned.
    Any ideas who he was?

partwerks, would it be Congressman James Traficant that you are trying to recall?

He is actually free now, not so very long ago. Amazing that taxpayers keep on rewarding these people.

Hey folks, he was railroaded. Because he stood up for the people who voted him in office. He even said on the floor of the House, that he would rather go to jail, than admit to a crime he did not commit.

Here are some links to him on youtube:

So don't have a bad idea of him.

Yes Hylander, I failed to add his statements about being railroaded. I understand this from the interviews that I have seen with him. He is most vocal for sure. I was making a general statement in regards to paying Congressmen and Senators big pensions and rewards when they are found doing criminal acts, many working against the American people, working for themselves, all the while supposed to be working for the American people.

    GeorgiaPeach,

I wasn't bein' mean about it, just stickin' up for a a guy like him. He was ivestigating the FBI, and Reno went after him, and the authorities brought up trumped up charges against him for it.

But the ones I know you are referring to are slime. Or they are just spineless, and shouldn't have ever been put there. But they are there, and they work for the people who paid for their office of tenure. Not the people who voted them in, but the monied behind them.

Hylander, I did not take it at all that you were being mean. I could have worded the original a bit differently to clarify his situation. I was thinking of Dan Rostenkowski and a couple of others, that as far as we know, were rightfully convicted.

Anyway, it is the idea that Congress votes pay raises, gets great health coverage, gives themselves grand pensions, and then they ask us to keep giving for their every whim.
