Finally, common sense is coming back!

Michigan Muslim leaders oppose anti-Sharia bill

    DETROIT—
Muslim leaders in Michigan are speaking out against legislation that would ban the implementation of foreign laws such as Islamic Sharia law.

The Detroit News reports (http://bit.ly/mYRhuK) Saturday that Democratic state Rep. Rashida Tlaib plans a news conference Tuesday in Detroit to oppose the bill introduced by fellow lawmaker Dave Agema, a Grandville Republican. Tlaib is the first Muslim woman to serve in the Michigan Legislature.

The bill doesn't specifically mention Sharia, which broadly refers to codes within the Islamic legal system. But Agema says it would be prohibited under the bill introduced in June.

Agema, who is not Muslim, says the bill protects the "vast majority" of Muslims who "come to this country to get away from Sharia."

Similar legislation has been proposed in about two dozen states

WE can't have conflicting laws in this country. It would divide us even more. If the mulsims want to live under sharia law they should move back to where they came from. If they were born here, they need to move.
