Do Fat People Cause Global Warming?

The rising number of fat people was blamed for global warming on Monday.

Scientists warned that the increase in big eaters means more food production — a major cause of CO2 gas emissions warming the planet.

Overweight people are also more likely to drive, adding to environmental damage.

Dr. Phil Edwards, of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, said: "Moving about in a heavy body is like driving in a gas guzzler."

Each fat person is said to be responsible for emitting a ton more of climate-warming carbon dioxide per year than a thin one.

It means an extra billion tons of CO2 a year is created, according to World Health Organization estimates of overweight people.

The scientists say providing extra grub for them to guzzle adds to carbon emissions that heat up the world, melting polar ice caps, raising sea levels and killing rain forests.

Using insane logic it becomes reasonable to place a carbon tax on joggers and health nuts that excersize often. They emit more carbon due to over exertion and for an extended period of time due to a longer existence.

Vegetarians, like cows, due to flatulence become methane generating plants, and should also be taxed accordingly.

Still waiting for the fashion trend yet to come,....pants with no pockets. Politicians will cringe when there are no more pockets to pick! Then the morally decrepid will have to play pocket pool out in the open. Poor Barney.

Maybe fat people don't cause Global Warming but fat-cats like Gore do create it so that the American people will be duped by having to pay yet other high taxes that don't benefit the American people. Gore. Pelosi and his Green investors will be among the richest people in the world with our tax dollars. They directly will benefit from the monies siphoned from the American people.

Exactly roundabout! They do use good logic in their assessment, but they forgot about the flip side to that coin just like you suggested. Health nuts do generate more co2 because of their activity. This whole argument is insane.
