TEMECULA, Calif. — Riverside County sheriff's deputies have seized more than 25,000 pounds of marijuana in what they say is the largest confiscation of pot in the history of the department.

Sgt. Dennis Gutierrez says deputies pulled over a big-rig truck on Interstate 15 near Temecula Wednesday morning and found 25,000 pounds of marijuana in packages inside the 18-wheeler.

Gutierrez says conservative estimates puts the wholesale value of the marijuana at $10 million.

The driver was taken into custody by Drug Enforcement Administration agents.
