I know, I know what your thinking....Bill Maher is a left-wing looney. And your right, he is. So, why see this movie? Well, I like movies about controversial topics, especially documentaries. I am also very open to different views about religion. Plus I had nothing else to do.

So, to the movie. Most of it was interesting, many views from many faiths were challenged, people were asked some pretty well thought out questions. BUT I found a GAPING hole in Maher's movie. Maher haters, this is the major flaw in his movie -- A big theme of this film is that Americans tie nationalism to Christianity all too often, and that they have no place together. He shows America first types, and their devotion to Christianity, George Bush basing some of his foreign policy on faith, the Mormans trying to make the USA the real holy land, religion causing wars........Here is the problem: If mixing nationalism with religion is such a deadly combination, I am left wondering why Maher did not say a single word, not make a single critique, and did not question anyone about Zionism. Not a single word. Nothing. Zilch. You would think he would considering that Zionism is the embodiment of a major critique that Bill has about religion in his film. Well, if you are looking for a way to shoot down Bill's movie, I think that could be a place to start.
