Marxist dictators are suddenly back in vogue as role models, according to the White House, and Joseph Stalin of Russia is an exemplar of the species. Uncle Joe helped preside over the first large-scale communist state after his role model, master revolutionary Vladimir Lenin, predeceased him. Stalin goes down as not merely one of history’s great murders, but also an exceedingly strange and diabolically paranoid tyrant. Close to none, suspicious of all, Stalin’s only real consistent “public policyâ€
