Police seeking day laborer in Las Vegas slaying

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Police say they're looking for a day laborer in the slaying of a woman outside her house in northeast Las Vegas.

The woman's husband told police he hired the man Friday and went to the store, returning home to find his wife dead and the day laborer gone.

The worker is described as being about 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was wearing jeans and rode a black bicycle, and police say he might go by the names of "Bork" or "York."

Police say the woman's body was found on a walkway leading to the back yard of the house on Stewart Avenue near Lamb Boulevard.

They say she had head injuries that looked like she was beaten to death.
