In the far Western Pacific, typhoon Man Yi is threatening the island of Okinawa. It's about 10 hours away from a very near direct hit. The storm is expected to pass about 20 miles west of Kadena Air Base which puts the air base in the eye of the storm. Alot of military personnel are on the island, including the Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force. Expected wind velocities as it reaches the island are expected to be sustained at 145 mph with wind gusts over 170 mph.

One blogger at Storm 2K's site reported that both his son and daughter are on the island...that is unless they were deployed along with the typhoon evac..he has no idea. Only all planes with skeleton crews are evacuated..I know because I went through one there in 1973.

They are all in our prayers.
