Man leaps from pickup on I-40
From Staff Reports
CARY - Raleigh police say they still don’t know why a man leaped from his pickup at 65 mph on Interstate 40 early this afternoon.
Jose Ines Garcia, 22, of Graham was headed east on I-40 near the Cary Towne Boulevard exit when he opened the driver’s side door of his Ford truck and jumped, police said.
Garcia came to rest on the inner shoulder of the highway, police said. His driverless pickup hit the rear of a sport utility vehicle, ran off the outer shoulder and went up an incline before coming to rest in some brush, police said.
Garcia was taken to WakeMed with serious injuries, according to an accident report.
A car that braked to avoid hitting Garcia hit another pickup. None of the drivers or passengers of the other three vehicles involved were seriously injured.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

He probably thought he had a flat tire and was getting out to look, it's not his fault it's the truck manufactors, no vehicle out there has a warning sticker on it that says it is dangerous to leave the vehicle while it is moving.
If I were him I would sue.

They have those nice big black snakes in NC , maybe it was riding shotgun, but he didn't know about it until it was too late. You'd have to be pretty desperate to bail out of a moving vehicle at 65 miles per hour. I have a hunch that it wasn't planned. Maybe his brakes gave out(?)

Neese, I had that same thought, or maybe a big black widow spider - we have lots of those in NC.

I'd hate to think he almost killed himself for a gecko. Is that what those little blue guys are called? The ones where their tails fall off if you catch them?

The best one I have heard is where this guy attached a jet engine to the roof of his car and went out and lit it off, it must have been a wild ride but it was certainly his last one.

ALZHEIMERS! The same thing happened to my husband. He was taking an elderly man home that had alzheimer and he tried to get out of the car on the interstate when it was going 65 mph. My husband like to had a heart attack, he was able to grab the door while driving and get it shut and keep him from falling out. Scary!

ALZHEIMERS? I would think it very unlikely since the man was only 22! Perhaps the possibility of killing more innocent Americans occured to him? the Devil made him do it?
