Anti-Israel Dem Trounced In State House Race

A south Florida Democrat who espoused anti-Israeli views was easily beaten in her bid to win a state representative on Monday.

Evelyn Garcia was easily beaten by 30-year-old State House aide Bobby Powell in a three-way race, reports The Palm Beach Post.

Garcia was forced to resign from her position as a Palm Beach County representative to the DNC last July 3 after news website bizpacreview uncovered e-mails she wrote accusing Israel of “crimes against humanity” and “running concentration camps.”

In the e-mails, which started off by promoting the radical leftist group Code Pink, Garcia had expressed “strong objection to continued US MILITARY support for the Israeli occupation” and pledged to “boycott [and] divest” from the Jewish state.”
The scandal threatened to go national due to Garcia’s ties to Florida Congresswoman and DNC Chair, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. It was reported by The Washington Free Beacon that many knew of Garcia’s anti-Israeli feelings but did nothing, and even told others to not make the e-mails public.
