Ohio Voters Need Mental evaluation?
Ohio voters had a perfect opportunity to reduce their state spending and work towards a balanced state budget without tax increases or increases in state license and use fees. THEY BLEW IT. The Unions reportedly spent 30 million $ of money collected from the residents of Ohio to convince them to roll back restrictions on public service unions.
This is the key wording 'PUBLIC SERVICE WORKERS'. Apparently these workers do not consider themselves part of ' the public.' As well it is clear they consider the wages and benefits that come their way are picked from a tree or drawn from a well somewhere in the state and the only reason the state is trying to cut back is because those state workers doing the picking or the drawing of the money are simply too lazy or greedy themselves to pick and draw more.
Some sources put the unfunded pension deficit at around 66 billion $. Maybe that number is not large enough yet to make an impression?
This is indicative of a greater problem with the overall mentality pervasive in the country that Government exists as a disconnected and independent entity separate and autonomous from the people. This entity is the source from which all subsidies and benefits flow without any cause or effect upon the people to whom this bounty flows.
The unions convinced the people to vote against themselves , in effect. Each and every citizen in the state of Ohio will be the ones paying the bill , while the unions laugh all the way to the bank. It would not be a surprise if the total cost per union member in the end did not exceed the price of the benefits they retained. These are not corporate employees , so they are not ' sticking it to the man ' or ' the corporate fat cats.' They are in effect sticking it to themselves.
They had a perfect opportunity to send a message and actually do something to take back some of the rights of the people to self determination. They sold out. Now the unions are free to expend millions in other states to further their agenda . The plan is very clear and Trumpka has already made clear it is off to Wisconsin next.
So what exactly did the people of Ohio win? Looks to me they are the winners of higher taxes , further layoffs , increased state debt and a tighter grip on their throats and wallets by the unions. Good work Ohio.

Very good post dsprtt
Yep! Bring on the psyche docs!
I was real disappointed and disgusted watching the ignorant people celebrating and bragging about shutting issue 2 down. And the local news channels all seemed to be smiling from ear to ear too.
