The problem I see legalizing same sex marriage, when we define marriage other than a man and women, we could find ourselves having to defend why we don't want polygamy or gorwn men with children, as is in other cultures, transexulas, etc. It will not stop here. They will say that since marriage is not defind between man and women then we should have it our way.


Same-sex 'Marriage' Advocate Desecrates Bible in Public

CONCORD, New Hampshire, April 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- As volunteers with the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family, and Property (TFP) were peacefully distributing literature in support of traditional marriage near the statehouse in Concord, NH yesterday, a same- sex "marriage" advocate tore up a Bible and shouted obscene anti-Catholic slurs at them.

The most offensive and obscene language was edited out of the video footage.

The incident occurred shortly after 500 pro-traditional marriage supporters had finished rallying in front of the New Hampshire Statehouse, opposing the legalization of same-sex "marriage" in the Granite State.

"It was shocking to see this fellow just tearing up the Bible, throwing its pages in our face," said TFP Student Action volunteer James Bascom. "Thank God, we are not intimidated by this type of anti-Catholic hatred. Our resolve to defend traditional marriage is only strengthened. With every insult, our desire to promote the truth of God's design of marriage grows ever stronger," he said.

"Torn pages of the Bible were scattered all over the intersection, blowing in the wind," continued Bascom. "There were other pro-homosexual individuals nearby holding a rainbow flag when the desecration took place. One of them laughed and said: 'I smoked a joint with pages of the Bible.'"

The American TFP, a Catholic organization, is distributing fliers titled "Ten Reasons Why Homosexual 'Marriage' Is Harmful and Must Be Opposed." It calls on residents of New Hampshire and Maine to firmly and peacefully resist the advance of the homosexual movement. The same group sent volunteers to California, Arizona and Florida last year to promote traditional one man, one woman marriage.

Iowa and Vermont recently imposed same- sex "marriage." The American TFP believes these developments will seriously undermine the family, harm the nation's moral foundation and jeopardize the innocence of children.

Yes, we can, agrneydgrl. Polygamy is a different matter, because like bigamy, it's a violation of the marriage contract, and a fraud. It's like selling the same computer to 10 people and a breach of the first contract by the second, and third and etc.

Children are protected by our informed consent laws, a right and duty of the state to protect children against forced adult activities.

We can protect children from sex and labor for the same reason we can protect children from marriage to either man or a woman no matter what the sex of the child or the sexual orientation of the predator.

Legalizing same-sex marriage for adults, who are not already married, who are not related, who are of age to give informed legal consent, who are doing so of their own free will will not lead to anything, other than ending the condition that exists now which is living together without the legal protection of our laws or forcing them to live alone.

If someone is gay, they can not marry someone of the opposite sex and be happy. They would be as miserable as forcing a heterosexual person to marry someone of the same sex.

There's nothing wrong with the Catholic Church or anyone else refusing to marry gay couples if they choose not to or even preaching against it on a social level if they so desire, after all, they have Free Speech. But really, isn't that just the pot calling the kettle black for Catholic Priests, who have gays among their ranks and have scandalized their own organization with pedophilia and child molestation against children of their church?!!

In any event, there IS something wrong with the Catholic Church or any other tax-exempt organization wanting to use our government to impose their dubious will on other people.

I believe the anger of the gay person tearing up the Bible is normal frustration at a religion who wishes to use government to impose their dubious will in the name of "God" on others that results in such torment and loneliness for gay people.

I'm a Christian, Southern Baptist, Republican who doesn't believe that God or Jesus wants us to use our government in the name of our religion to make people unhappy, to torment them, force them into loneliness or make them live lives without equal protection under the law.
